While the risk continues to remain low at this time, we understand concerns about the COVID-19 virus are top of mind. We want to be transparent and share an update about the conference. Rest assured we are monitoring developments with the hotel and our host location, SDSU not only daily, but hourly.
At this point, we are proceeding as planned to hold a safe and successful conference.
There have been no reported cases in San Diego, and SDSU has already activated an emergency response team to plan for potential contingencies for the near future, including assessment of large gatherings (our conference is considered small).
Though we have had a few registration cancellations from schools where they have imposed a ban on non-essential travel, we continue to receive new registrations from individuals who are unaffected. All of this could change at any moment. Because TAC is being hosted by SDSU, if they choose to impose restrictions for group meetings of our size, then that decision would impact our event.
TAC is 45 days away—it is very hard to predict what may happen between now and then. We continue to monitor everything as best we can, and we are staying in close contact with SDSU. Ultimately, we continue to keep the health and safety of attendees as the priority.
Look for ongoing updates on the TAC website. Additional resources are also available on the NACS website.
